A Visit to NAD

Ramone Griffith, Associate Pastor, Capitol Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church, is looking for more tools and resources to implement in his ministry at The Hill. He has heard about the North American Division but is not really sure what they actually do. However, he is curious to see if they might have some resources for him. He takes a chance and drives up to the NAD office and is given a tour by Esther Knott, Associate Director of NAD Ministerial. Fortunately, he choses a day when most of the NAD team have returned from their ministry around the division and are in the office for team meetings. In a few hours he is able to meet many of the departmental leaders for the NAD and gets introduced to a sampling of the comprehensive resources that the NAD offers for congregations. As he returns to Washington DC he reflects on all of the dozens of valuable resources produced by the NAD and wishes that his colleagues in ministry knew more about them.

In this gritty documentary, watch the most unlikely cast of believers tackle this problem head on, and encounter more problems within themselves than on the streets of Oakland. Walk in their shoes as they discover just how complex homeless ministry can be.

The Updated Feedback Loop. We address this tool as a template of pastor development for leadership excellence. It has been developed to help you have an assessment tool for the local church, pastoral leadership, performance excellence, and pastoral growth.Nowhere is feedback needed more than among church leaders. A system-wide feedback loop that helps Church leaders grow and develop is long overdue based upon survey results of both church administrators and pastors. Effective church leaders are anxious to discover ways that they can better advance the gospel.

This Feedback Loop is the result of years of collaboration between church pastors, conference administrators, colleges and seminaries, local church lay leaders, and the North American Division Office.

The Loop is based upon the following concepts:1. Simplicity and ease of use2. Mutual trust and genuine transparency3. Everyone’s need for feedback and continuous development4. Accurate feedback based upon unbiased information5. Collaboration rather than duplication of effort by the NAD’s 58 Conferences
