Assessing the Challenge of Pastor Shortages Across the North American Division

The NAD Ministerial Association team has carefully studied the problem of pastor shortages across the Division. We are aware that this is a multi-layered challenge. Our recent report at the NAD Year-End Meeting surveys the matter from multiple angles. We closed our report and our leaders from across the Division then separated into breakout groups to attempt to answer the following questions to help identify to heart of the problem and some possible solutions

• What are the reasons young, people are choosing not to go into pastoral ministry, and how can we address these concerns?

• How can all levels of the church help with the NextGen Initiative—recruiting process?

Will you help us think through these issues? We look forward to your feedback and engagement. This issue really does send a ripple effect through the entire church, and will determine the health and vitality of the church in the future.
