Profile: Isaiah Long

Earlier this year, we began a new series that seeks to highlight the voices of pastors and leaders on the front lines who are committed to the task of shepherding churches and developing future pastoral leaders. If you missed the first installment, you can access it here.

For this installment, we had the privilege of talking to Pastor Isaiah Long who serves as an Associate Pastor at the Emmanuel Brinklow Church just north of Washington, DC.

Isaiah learned about the Sabbath as he was leading his Apostolic congregation in corporate Bible study. A parishioner asked a question about the Millennium, which prompted him to go back and study further on his own. I

saiah’s story is a powerful one of authenticity and transformation. Listen as he talks about his journey of shepherding his congregation throughout his own transition when he discovered the Sabbath truth, and helping them to adopt Sabbath-keeping as a commitment of the wider faith community.

Isaiah’s story reminds us of the power of authenticity, humility, and a tenacious pursuit of God and the word of God. Let’s recommit to a spirit of humility as we study the word, and ask God to redirect us whenever we are out of alignment.
