Dr. Hucks' influence has extended far beyond the classroom. From 2006–2016, he served as associate editor of Ministry, International Journal for Pastors and associate ministerial secretary for the General Conference Ministerial Association, focusing on theological education and ministerial preparation. Through In these roles, he has contributed to the professional development of pastors worldwide, deeply by deeply understanding the resources and support that ministry leaders need to thrive.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Dr. Hucks earned his undergraduate ministerial degree from Oakwood College and both his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Andrews University. His scholarly contributions have appeared in numerous professional and popular journals, demonstrating his ability to bridge academic insight with practical application.

Most recently, in 2024, Dr. Hucks was asked to serve as Assistant to the President for Mission and Culture at Andrews University, where he worked to ensure that institutional mission translates into lived experience—a philosophy he will undoubtedly bring to his work with pastors across the North American Division.
