Writers Needed for Best Practices for Adventist Ministry

Maybe you haven’t thought of yourself as a writer but you have something you’d like to share in this Best Practices newsletter.

Maybe you do consider yourself a writer but you don’t think you have time to create an article you’d be proud of.

No matter what your mindset, if you have something you think is worth sharing then get in touch with Michaela Lawrence Jeffery, our managing editor. She edits each article before publication and she can walk you through a fine-tuning of your article as well as suggestions for how to create an article from an idea.

It’s possible that you already have the content in a sermon, a thesis, a dissertation, a newsletter to your church members, or some other space. Here are some tips from worship.org that’ll help you pull together an article from something you’ve alxready written.

In the meantime, here is what you should know:

  • We pay our writers $10 per 100 words and generally look for articles between 300 and 700 words.

  • Your qualifications for writing are basically that you’re currently serving in ministry and have something to say that you believe will be of aid to other pastors/chaplains.

  • Articles are due the first and third Wednesday of the month.

  • Just because you submit an article doesn’t mean it’ll get published—but usually it will be.

  • Query Michaela ahead of time, if you’re wondering if what you have will work.

  • The newsletter is published the second and fourth Monday of the month (most of the time!)

  • In August, we’ll post a list of upcoming topics to help you begin planning your writing time.
