Ivan L. Williams, Sr.
Ivan L. Williams, Sr. serves as the director of the Ministerial Association for the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists. The NAD ministerial team serves and supports more than four thousand pastors, and more than one hundred ministerial leaders and associates in Bermuda, Canada, the United States, and the Guam-Micronesia Mission. Prior to this, he served as the Ministerial director for the Northern California Conference.
Williams sensed a call to ministry at thirteen years of age while serving in an evangelistic meeting. In preparation for full-time ministry, he subsequently pursued educational training at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, where he graduated with degrees in Communications and Theology, and from Andrews University Theological Seminary, in Berrien Springs, Michigan, with a Master of Divinity degree. Williams also completed a Doctor of Ministry degree from Claremont School of Theology, in Claremont, California. His project-dissertation dealt with pastor burnout and renewal in Seventh-day Adventist ministry.
In addition to pastoral ministry, he had the privilege to serve eight years as a chaplain for the California State Assembly while pastoring in Sacramento, CA, and recently retired after 21 years in the United States Air Force, serving as a Chaplain-Lieutenant Colonel for the California and Maryland Air National Guard.
Williams enjoys family time, media and broadcasting, reading, preaching, barbering, athletics, sharing hope, and teaching people to live a balanced life in Jesus. He has been able to be all he can be with the unconditional love and support of His Heavenly Father, faithful wife Kathleen, and their two children, Imani, and Ivan, II.
