For over 40 years, Yvonne E Knight has been serving God in various capacities; as a daughter, a sister, a wife, and a mother, but first and foremost as a child of God who is still under construction.

Yvonne hails from Jamaica, West Indies and began her early educational pursuits in the parish of Hanover. While attending Rusea’s High School, she accepted the beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and was baptized at the Church in Jericho.

Months after becoming a Seventh-day Adventist, Mrs. Knight, filled with the assurance of the soon coming of Jesus Christ, started a Branch Sabbath School for the children of her district. Unknowingly, this sowed the seed for the fruitful plans God had for her later as she led missionary teams and presented the word at Evangelistic Series both in the United States of America and the Dominican Republic.

Yvonne Knight has also had the privilege of serving as the first Women's Ministries Director of Greater New York Conference for nine years during which she accepted many opportunities to be used by God to teach, mentor, nurture, and empower others to be the best for Him.

For her work in the Church and various communities, she has received many awards. Mrs. Knight has been featured in the Atlantic Union Gleaner as a leader who was brought to the forefront by God in establishing the work of Women’s Ministries in Greater New York Conference.

Currently she serves as Ministerial Spouses Coordinator for the Atlantic Union, Prayer Ministries Director for the Greater New York Conference, Elder at the North Bronx Seventh-day Adventist Church, and still continues to prepare herself to be used by God for wider service in any capacity, and for the opportunities to interface with others at various levels of the Church.

Mrs. Knight attained a BA in Economics from McMaster University, and an MBA in Accounting from Pace University, Lubin School of Business. She currently works in Corporate America as an Assistant Vice President for a Financial Institution in the areas of Life Insurance and Investment.

Mrs. Knight is goal oriented and considers challenges as preparation for other work that God wants her to do. So even in the face of daunting circumstances and seemingly insurmountable hurdles, she trusts God and He works through her and her support team.

Sister Knight is happily married to Dr. G. Earl Knight, the President of the Atlantic Union Conference and their children, Anthea and Michael, are young adults who are serving God in their respective spheres and are also excelling in their academic and professional pursuits.

Yvonne Knight finds constant assurance in the promises of God. For her, Isaiah 54:10 epitomizes His faithfulness—“For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,’ Says the LORD, who has mercy on you.”
